Day 3. Athens Cooking Class and Lunch

 During this class, you will learn how to cook like a Greek. We use only the best local and in-season ingredients to offer you the best culinary experience and one of the best meals you are going to have in Athens. Leaving the cooking studio you will take with you not only memories of one of the best meals you had in Athens, but also the recipes of what you cooked so you can recreate the whole menu back home.

With your private driver, drive north in the holly rocks of Meteora. In the afternoon you arrived at the Kalabaka.

Day 5. Kalabaka – Visit Meteora – Delphi

Meteora is a must-see on any trip to Greece. Here are some of the most ancient, active monasteries in all of Greece, perched miraculously atop the mountains along the Pinios River. Their history goes back to the 14th century when the monks sought refuge in the Cliff-side caves then fled higher to build the original wooden shelters, later transformed into monasteries. They are veritable Byzantine museums exhibiting superb icons, old manuscripts, and unique mosaics and frescoes.

Day 6. Delphi and Delphi Museum – Olympia

Pick up you from the hotel after breakfast, and then take you by private mini-van to Delphi. This UNESCO World Heritage site was so important to the ancient Greeks, that they called it the ‘navel of the world’. People would travel from hundreds of miles away to make a pilgrimage, and listen to whatever prophecies the Oracle had for them.

Day 7. Olympia-Ancient Olympia – Birthplace of the Olympic Games-Nafplio

Today, you will have Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games and one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Greece. Visit the archaeological site with the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium, and the archaeological museum. Olympia became the most important religious and athletic center in Greece. Its fame rests upon the Olympic Games, the greatest national festival and a highly prestigious one worldwide, which was held every four years to honor Zeus.

Visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia is a must, as it has some of the most important works of classical art such as the sculpted decoration of the temple of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the statue of Nike by Paionios and the famous Hermes of Praxiteles is major museum’s masterpieces. Equally important is the bronze collection, the richest of its kind in the world.

Day 8.  Nafplio-Arcadia: Cave Kapsia – Dimitsana -Stemnitsa

 Stemnitsa has several small jewelry stores, and it is not at all difficult to let yourself be tempted It is also Greece’s only school of gold and silver.craftsmanship. On Dimitsana you visit the The Open Air Water Power Museum. Also, you visit the monasteries. Impregnable as this area was, many hermit monks sought shelter here. Prodromou, probably founded in 1167, is probably the most spectacular of them, and visiting.

Day 9. Nafplio- Cruise Spetses-Hydra-Nafplio

Day 10. Nafplio-Mycenae-Epidaurus

Drive to Epidaurus and visit the Ancient Theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. The famous ancient theatre of Epidaurus was constructed in the late 4th century BC, around the time when Athens was flourishing in art, philosophy, science, and of course theatre, and can seat more than 12,000 spectators.

I was visiting the famous Palace, the Lions Gate, and the Tomb of King Agamemnon. Mycenae is the largest and most important center of the civilization that was named “Mycenaean” after this very citadel.
